Madison County Telephone Company offers the Arkansas Lifeline Assistance Program to qualifying residential customers.

The Lifeline Assistance Program is a government assistance program that provides a discount of $9.25 for basic monthly local telephone service, broadband service, or in conjunction with bundled services.

Only eligible customers may apply. To qualify for Lifeline, applicants must be participants in at least one of the following programs: Temporary Assistance to Needy Families, Department of Housing and Urban Development, Medicaid, Food Stamps, Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Federal Public Housing Assistance Program, or Veterans & Survivors Pension Benefit. The program is limited to one discount per household. The program is non-transferable.

Qualifying customers will have to apply and verify status with the Department of Human Resources to be eligible for the Lifeline program.

To qualify, a household must participate in one of the following:

  • Total household income at or below 135% of the federal poverty level. (See guidelines on application)
  • Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
  • Federal Public Housing or Section 8 Assistance
  • Medicaid
  • Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
  • Veterans & Survivors Pension Benefit
